We all know what it feels like to work in an organization where we are recognized and appreciated. At CalOptima, we realize that recognition and appreciation should be more than just programs and awards, although we have these, too. Recognition and appreciation are just a part of how we do business. Our leadership training includes a focus on the importance of recognition and we provide many opportunities to remind employees to recognize each other’s great work. These opportunities include:

Employees are recognized for exceptional customer service, whether it’s with our members, external customers or fellow employees.

We join the rest of the nation in celebrating National Customer Service Week each October, but we put our own CalOptima twist on the celebration. The week is highlighted by daily giveaways and fun activities capped off by a catered meal served by our leadership. Our employees look forward to seeing our executive team wearing aprons, chef's hats and smiles as they thank them for their hard work and customer focus.

The Employee Activities Committee’s mission is to unite CalOptima employees through regularly organized events and fundraisers promoting friendship, involvement and support. From Halloween costume and pumpkin carving contests to bowling nights to ice cream socials, there are employee activities happening throughout the entire year. The committee also organizes outreach activities, giving back to the community through food and toy drives and the annual United Way
Giving Campaign.

Each summer, we typically sponsor a family picnic. The picnic features delicious food, snacks, desserts, and fun games for the entire family. There are even door prizes with great gifts. Our Employee Activities Committee raises money throughout the year for this exciting event.

Leaders nominate employees for a cash reward for going “above and beyond” their typical job responsibilities.
