Community Partner Communication

CalOptima Community Partners

Thank you for your commitment to serving CalOptima members. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has created an unprecedented challenge to our health care community, and your dedication is essential in helping Orange County get through this difficult time. We sincerely appreciate the effort and focus you are undoubtedly bringing to your work. Below is CalOptima’s response to COVID-19 and information for your interactions with our employees and members.

1) Employee work accommodations:

First and foremost, we are working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our workplace and the community. CalOptima has provided detailed instructions to staff on the conditions requiring them to take time off or transition to temporary telework. We have also adjusted the roles of staff who interact with community-based organizations. To limit staff exposure, we transitioned functions that were previously conducted in the community, such as trainings or presentations, to be completed by phone calls or virtual formats. Thank you for your flexibility.

2) CalOptima’s administration building:

We are continuing to serve our members through our Customer Service phone numbers, as we adhere to guidelines to reduce the possibility of transmission. Our buildings are closed to visitors. CalOptima remains ready to respond to your needs, please call us at:

3) Meetings:

Until further notice, CalOptima has modified both our internal and external meeting protocols. We have minimized the size of in-person internal meetings and require a remote option for attendance. Meetings that typically involve external visitors to CalOptima have been modified to a virtual format, where appropriate and feasible, or cancelled. This includes events such as Member Advisory Committee and others. If you regularly attend CalOptima meetings, please watch for email communications or visit our website regarding modifications to format or schedule.

4) CalOptima-hosted events:

To support the health and safety of our community, CalOptima-hosted events have been cancelled or postponed unless there is a virtual option.

5) COVID-19 resources:

CalOptima has COVID-19 information and resources for members and providers on our website homepage. We also recommend the Orange County Health Care Agency information here and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention information here.

CalOptima will provide COVID-19 updates on an ongoing basis. We are closely following all local, state and federal guidelines to protect members and staff while continuing to partner with you to fulfill our mission to provide access to quality health care for members.

You are invited to sign-up to receive emails with CalOptima’s weekly COVID-19 Community Announcements, member and provider updates, community resources and the quarterly e-newsletter Community Connections. Once social distancing requirements are lifted, it may include CalOptima hosted events/workshops.
