Ron DiLuigi

Ron DiLuigi is a retired health care executive and a longtime advocate at the local, state and federal level for the vulnerable and uninsured. Before retiring in 2015, DiLuigi was the Chief Advocacy and Public Policy Officer at St. Joseph Health System, serving in the areas of advocacy, public policy and government relations for the 15-hospital system in California, Texas and New Mexico. Prior to that, he was Regional Vice President for Advocacy and Community Benefit for St. Joseph’s Southern California Region. Before working in the hospital industry, DiLuigi held progressively responsible executive positions during a 27-year career in government, including as Director of the Orange County Health Care Agency. He has served extensively on boards, committees and commissions. Currently, he is on the California Medi-Cal Children’s Health Advisory Panel, a statutory body that advises the Department of Health Care Services on policy and operational issues that affect children in Medi-Cal, and on the Board of St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers, an FQHC with locations in Fullerton and Orange. DiLuigi has a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Fullerton and is a graduate of the Management Executive Program at University of California, Irvine. DiLuigi and his wife, Paula, are the proud parents of three children and grandparents of six. He was appointed a CalOptima director in August 2016.
