Candice Gomez

As Executive Director, Program Implementation, Candice Gomez oversees the launch of new programs and initiatives at CalOptima. Currently, she is leading the effort to ensure the smooth transition of California Children’s Services to the Whole-Child Model, which will streamline care for Orange County children with critical health conditions. Some of Gomez’s other large projects include the 2014 implementation of Medi-Cal expansion and the 2015 introduction of OneCare Connect, a Cal MediConnect health plan that coordinates care for people who have Medicare and Medi-Cal. Gomez also led the team that launched Orange County’s first Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

Previous to her role as Executive Director, she served as the Interim Executive Director for Seniors and Persons With Disabilities and Director of CalOptima Kids, operating the Healthy Families Program and Healthy Kids. Gomez holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in health care administration, both from California State University, Long Beach.
