Diagnosis and Management of Dementia

We will review approaches to evaluating cognitive complaints and diagnosing dementia, emphasizing clinical history, cognitive testing, and appropriate use of laboratory and imaging studies. We’ll go over the major types of dementia and the key features that distinguish them. We’ll review evidence-based treatment strategies — including pharmacologic options, management of behavioral symptoms and non-drug interventions. Lastly,  we’ll discuss counseling patients and caregivers on the support needed for providing care to those with dementia. 1.5 CME and CE Credits Offered.
