ORANGE, Calif. (March 26, 2025) — CalOptima Health, in partnership with the Crime Survivors Resource Center, successfully distributed 49,000 doses of naloxone to more than 45 provider and community-based organizations during its latest Drive to Revive event on March 21. The naloxone distribution event, which took place in Santa Ana, aimed to equip local organizations with the tools to combat opioid overdoses and save lives in Orange County.
Naloxone, a medication that reverses opioid overdoses, is a critical resource in addressing the ongoing opioid crisis. By providing free doses to registered organizations, CalOptima Health and the Crime Survivors Resource Center are empowering providers and community groups to respond effectively to overdose emergencies for our CalOptima Health members and the community. Attendees also received training and instructions on how to administer the medication.

CalOptima Health created the Drive to Revive effort in 2024 to address public health challenges in Orange County. By focusing on naloxone distribution, the health insurer plays a vital role in supporting the region’s safety net and promoting health equity.
