CalOptima Health collaborates with cities across Orange County to deliver life-changing care to members experiencing homelessness. Through these partnerships, the Street Medicine Program delivers an innovative service model that addresses immediate health needs while helping members achieve long-term stability and housing.
CalOptima Health’s Street Medicine Program launched in Garden Grove in April 2023 in partnership with Healthcare in Action. With an initial $4 million investment, the program provides primary care, behavioral health services and housing resources using mobile medical vans. Garden Grove was the first city in Orange County to embrace this transformative approach, improving the lives of hundreds of residents.
